Arch was a great friend and partner of mine, almost from the start of the Lost Canadian battle. We fought to right some egregious laws regarding Canadian citizenship. Almost no Parliamentary Bills had ever dealt with the issue when Arch and I teamed up. Today, several of our Bills have become law, which gave or restored citizenship to somewhere between one and two million people. Arch donated both his time and money to help others. Together we went to Ottawa to march for equal rights, to do press conferences, and to advocate for others- their ages ranged from newborns to great-grandparents. Arch was featured on the CBC, and together with Jackie Scott and some other Lost Canadians, we got Canada's WWII war brides and their children recognized with Canadian citizenship (67,000+ of them). For most of his life Arch was denied his rightful citizenship in Canada because of anachronistic gender discrimination against his mother. Arch and our team of Lost Canadians got the offending laws changed, which brought women light-years closer to having the same rights as men.
I'm devastated at his passing. Canada lost a wonderful and caring man. You'll be greatly missed, Arch.
Love from all the Lost Canadians.
