In Share Your Memory
I met Arch when he walked into the flight centre in Nelson, NZ almost 27 year ago, I remember on one of his visits he brought me a little crystal bell as a thank you, it still sits in pride of place in my glass cabinet always a reminder of his generosity. He was a great support when I set up my own travel brokerage, always supportive and encouraging and full of worldly wisdom. We formed a friendship that was to last years, Arch and Brenda's life was never boring, and I enjoyed, watching Miles, Anna and Ryan grow up and loved listening to how proud Arch was of all his children. Over the years we shared many laughs, and whenever he returned to Nelson we would always catch up for a drink or a meal. Arch was a treasure, he had a great sense of humor and loved pulling my leg, and teasing me. I valued the friendship and my husband Rob also grew very fond of him, they had deep conversations discussing politics and investments, and thanks to these conversations we have learnt much. Weird fact that all of Arch's foresight has come true and even though with the miles between us, we would remember and have the occasional laugh about his predictions. Arch was such a kind, and very generous friend, always there at the end of the phone or email and full of wonderful life stories and experience. We were lucky enough to look after Arch's beloved Dolly for a year when we house sat for them in Nelson, we have very fond memories of this time. Arch may you rest in peace my friend, I know that all your fur babies will be waiting for you to feed them those sly snacks and poppy thai. Much love the Ketel Family in Nelson, Sue, Rob, Mya and Ruben xx
